Application Process Preferences

Preferences are used when selecting applicants from the interest list, along with the lottery draw. Preferences are verified. If the preference(s) cannot be verified, preference points will be removed and the pre-application may be canceled.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Read carefully. When you get to the Preference section of the pre-application check the box if you can answer YES to any of the questions below to receive preference points.

Fresno County Residency Preference

• Does any adult member of your household live in a city located in Fresno County?
• Does any adult member of your household work in a city located in Fresno County?
• Does any adult member of your household go to school in a city located in Fresno County?

Elderly/Disabled Preference

• Is the head of the household, spouse, or co-head age 62 or older?
• Is any member of the household disabled?

U.S. Veterans Preference

• Is the head of the household an active member of the U.S. Armed Forces?
• Is the head of the household a U.S. veteran?
• Is the head of the household a surviving spouse of a U.S. veteran?

Families with Minor Children

• Are any members of the household minors (17 and under)? Minor children of live-in aides and foster children do not qualify for this preference.
